Susan has been a leader in the fields of divorce, child custody and domestic violence for the past twenty years. She has worked at both the county and statewide levels within the California courts in positions of management, professional training and development of legislation. Her professional life reflects her commitment to the voices of families and children being heard and addressed by the courts and the wounds of divorce, child custody disputes and domestic violence being healed.
One of the components of Susan’s commitment is to reach out to organizations and to the community through public speaking and dialogue. Below are possible topics, though speeches and workshops may be customized to fulfill the needs and interests of the participants.
1. "Challenges for Today’s Families"
What are the issues and challenges that confront families today? How do we create meaning, values and understanding in such a fast- paced, multi-dimensional society?
2.“De-mystifying the Family Court Process”
How does the family court process work and how do I need to know to support my children and myself?
3. “Through a Child’s Eyes: How to Talk to Children about Divorce and Separation”
4. “Families in Trouble: Let’s Talk about Domestic Violence”
